The Granville Rotary Club has announced that it’s 2020 Taste of Granville food and wine event scheduled for Saturday, April 25, is cancelled.

The sixth annual event will not be held in recognition of Gov. Mike Dewine’s call for holding no events with more than 10 people due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak.

The event may be held later this year, possibly in the fall, Rotary leaders said.

The event, held annually on the Bryn Du Mansion grounds in Granville, features food selections by local retailers as well as wine and craft beer tastings. Typically the event attracts from 500 to 600 attendees from throughout Central Ohio.

The Silent Auction traditionally held in conjunction with the event may be held later, possibly electronically, event organizers said.

Those who have already purchased tickets will get refunds.

Taste of Granville typically raises in the neighborhood of $20,000 for Granville Rotary projects including many local projects such as scholarships, youth events such as Junior Achievement Biztown for fifth-graders and an

Ethics and Leadership Conference for high-schoolers; bike-path clean-up, putting up and taking down holiday lights along the Bryn Du Mansion great lawn, and book donations to the Granville Public Library.
